Sarah Ansboury has spent her career helping shape the growth of pickleball—from competing at the highest level to developing coaches, players, education systems, and pathways for the sport around the world.
Pre-2014
Competed as a 5.5 USTA tennis player and served over a decade as a certified USPTA instructor and collegiate tennis coach.
2014
Discovered pickleball and transitioned full-time into competitive paddle sports.
2015
Turned pro; claimed Gold and Silver medals at the Tournament of Champions in Ogden, Utah.
2015
Won Gold in Women's Doubles Open with Gigi LeMaster at the USAPA National Championships.
2016
Won 5 medals at the first-ever U.S. Open Pickleball Championships in Naples, FL, including Gold in Pro Women's Doubles (with Christine McGrath) and Gold in Pro Mixed Doubles (with Daniel Moore).
June 2018 - August 2023
Appointed Director of Pickleball Instruction at the Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
2018
Helped launch the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR)—the official education partner of USA Pickleball—to design coaching curriculum.
2021–Present
Competed at the Top tier of professional pickleball in MLP and on the PPA Tour from 2021–2023.
2023
Assumed leadership of the Professional Pickleball Registry, expanding certification standards to over 10,000+ coaches across 14+ countries.
2026–Present
Shifted her focus from playing to commentary in 2026, bringing elite technical strategy and a champion’s perspective to PPA Tour and MLP broadcasts.
Founded GPA to advance coach education and player development worldwide.
